Mymensingh Medical Journal (MMJ) [ISSN: 1022–4742 & NLM Unique ID: 9601799] is a peer reviewed journal, published quarterly in January, April, July & October by Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh 2206, Bangladesh. In addition to recognition by the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council, MMJ has been indexed & included in Index Medicus & MEDLINE. Databases in the MEDLARS system are available online in the US & throughout the world. Citations from the articles indexed, the indexing terms & the English abstract printed in the journal is included in the databases. The following are the minimum requirements for manuscripts submitted for publication which is based on Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE; www.icmje.org).

Submission process: A soft copy of manuscript (MS Word) must be sent to mmjmmc@yahoo.com. In addition, authors of Bangladesh have to send two hard copies of manuscript directly or by courier or postal service.

Covering letter: Article must be accompanied by a covering letter, signed by all authors, containing statements that they are the only authors, the manuscript is not under consideration by any other journal & this material has not been published in any form previously. They must declare that they made the manuscript plagiarism free.

Title page: A title should be clear, concise, preferably within 20 words & not a conclusion. All authors should give their name & initial with their institutional affiliation & their highest academic degrees. Name, address, cell phone number & email address of the corresponding author must be included in the title page.

Abstract: Abstract must be written in a single paragraph preferably between 150 to 300 words. Three to six pertinent keywords specific to the article should be added at the end of the abstract. Avoid abbreviations in the abstract.

Main body: Manuscript must be in English, on one side of the A4 size paper with double spacing between the lines & 5cm margin at the left-hand side of the sheet. It should include Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion & Conclusion. Manuscript should be preferably between 2000 to 4000 words excluding tables, figures & references.

Table & Figures: Tables & figures should be placed within the text of the manuscript. Number of tables & figures consecutively in the order of their first citation in the text. Tables should not duplicate in the text of the article and avoid internal horizontal & vertical rules. Total number of tables & figures must not exceed 10.

References: References must be listed following the Vancouver style. These should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text as superscript number. Number of references should be kept below 40 except review article.

Acknowledgements, conflicts of interest & Funding: Author may include acknowledgements, conflicts of interest & funding information, if any.

Author’s contribution: Author must write about specific contribution of each author in the study with few sentences.

Ethical Issues: Author must submit a copy of clearance certificate from an Ethical Committee or Institutional Review Board (IRB) or from any authorized body along with the manuscript & mention the memo number within bracket in the methodology section while describing ethical issues.

Review process: Manuscript is accepted after peer review by the experts as per recommendations. The Editor reserves the customary right to style & if necessary, minor modification of the material accepted for publication & to determine the priority & time of publication. Subscription/contribution fees should be provided by authors before publication.
